Intertek’s one-stop solutions help energy storage enterprises successfully enter international markets
24 Sep 2025
USA: Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, held a certification ceremony for four energy storage enterprises at the RE+ Solar Exhibition in Las Vegas, USA.
At the ceremony, Intertek awarded Risen Energy, Soluna, Novele and Bluetti with ETL, CB and CE certificates, among others. This followed comprehensive technical evaluations and rigorous testing to certify that the products of these businesses comply with the relevant market access requirements of Europe and North America.
In recent years, the acceleration of the global energy transition has fueled a strong surge in demand for energy storage. According to EVTank, the EVI Economics Institute and the China Battery Industry Research Institute, global shipments of energy storage batteries reached 369.8 GWh in 2024, of which Chinese businesses accounted for 345.8 GWh – 93.5% of the total. Additionally, China’s energy storage lithium battery export orders exceeded 120 GWh, with Europe and North America together accounting for 73%.
By leveraging a complete industrial chain, cost advantages and technological leadership, Chinese energy storage enterprises have secured an important position in international competition. However, the path to overseas expansion is full of challenges. International market competition is rapidly growing, and technology is constantly evolving. At the same time, certification systems in different regions are complex and diverse, with stringent standards which are continuously being updated. These factors have led to higher requirements for product performance and quality control, creating major barriers for enterprises seeking to expand into global markets.
As a leading global provider of Total Quality Assurance services, Intertek’s laboratories for energy storage systems, batteries and power converters are equipped with a full range of state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by expert engineers. They provide global market access testing and certification services for batteries, converters/inverters, and energy storage products, safeguarding enterprises in their success in the global market.
Intertek’s laboratories are accredited by CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment), OSHA (U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration), CCS (Australian Conformity Certification Services), MNRE (India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy), and INMETRO (Brazilian National Institute of Metrology, Quality, and Technology).
